HormoneGuard is published by Inumimo Idowu. This page explains how to delete your HormoneGuard account and the data linked to it, what is deleted, and what is kept.
HormoneGuard has no sign-up. The first time it runs, it creates an anonymous account for you — no name, email, phone number or password. Your scan history, saved products, search history and health topics are stored only on your phone.
Delete it in the app
- Open HormoneGuard.
- Tap Settings in the bottom bar.
- Under Account, tap Delete account and data.
- If you have a subscription, the app explains that deleting the account unlinks it. Tap Continue to go on, or Keep account to stop.
- Tap Delete to confirm.
The app tells you when the deletion is complete. If it cannot reach our servers — for example, with no connection — it tells you that nothing was deleted, so you can try again.
If the app cannot delete the account
For security, our sign-in provider (Firebase Authentication) only lets an app delete an account shortly after it signed in, and the anonymous account signs in once, the first time the app runs. If it refuses, the app tells you that nothing has been deleted and offers Clear and sign out (or Keep everything). Clear and sign out deletes everything on your phone, as below, and signs the app out of the anonymous account, so nothing is linked to it again; the app then starts a new, unrelated anonymous account. The old account holds no name, email or other personal detail, and the usage counters our server keeps under it expire automatically within a few days.
What is deleted
| Data | Where | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Your anonymous account | Our servers (Firebase Authentication) | Deleted (signed out instead if the app cannot delete it — see above) |
| Usage counters for your account (how many analyses, label reads and product-cache updates it made recently) | Our servers (Cloud Firestore) | Deleted |
| Scan history, saved products, search history, health topics, label readings, cached products and app settings | Your phone | Deleted |
| The analytics identifier the app generated | Your phone | Replaced with a new, unrelated one |
Deletion cannot be undone.
What is kept, and for how long
- Your subscription. Deleting your HormoneGuard account does not cancel a subscription — Apple or Google bills it, and you cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Apple and Google keep their own record of the purchase under your store account. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, keeps the purchase record under the deleted anonymous identifier; to have it removed, email info@hormoneguard.com with the order number from your App Store or Google Play receipt. If you keep the subscription, Restore purchase in the app links it to your new anonymous account. RevenueCat also keeps a customer record under the anonymous identifier for every copy of the app, subscriber or not, so the app can ask whether a subscription is active; without a purchase, nothing links that record to you once the identifier is gone.
- Analytics events and crash reports already sent. These are tied only to a random identifier the app generated, which deletion discards. Nothing links that identifier to you afterwards, so these records cannot be singled out. Crash reports are deleted after 90 days; analytics events after About 2 years.
- Server logs. Our functions do not write your anonymous identifier to their logs. Google Cloud keeps its own technical request logs (for example the time, outcome and network address of a call), and these are deleted after 30 days.
- The shared product cache is not affected. It holds public product facts — name, brand, ingredients, image link — and nothing about who looked them up.
Your health topics were never sent to us, so there is nothing of them to delete on our side.
If you have already uninstalled the app
Uninstalling removes everything the app stored on your phone. The anonymous account it created holds no name, email or other contact detail, so neither we nor anyone else can link it to you, and the only records kept under it — the daily usage counters — expire automatically within a few days of its last use.
Because the account is anonymous, we cannot find it from an email request: the only link to it was the app on your phone. If you would like the subscription record removed, or have a question about any other data, email info@hormoneguard.com and we will tell you what we can locate and delete.
Delete only the data on your phone
To clear your history but keep your account (and the subscription linked to it), use Settings → Reset local data instead.
