This page explains the limits of what HormoneGuard tells you. It applies to the app and to this website, including its blog and ingredient pages, and it sits alongside the Terms of Use, which set out our liability in full.
Not medical advice
HormoneGuard is an educational product-information tool. It does not diagnose conditions, predict outcomes, or replace medical advice. Nothing in the app or on this website creates a doctor, pharmacist or other professional relationship with you.
If you are pregnant, trying to conceive, managing a condition such as PCOS or a thyroid disorder, or choosing products for a child, discuss product choices with a doctor, pharmacist or other qualified professional. Do not delay, disregard or stop professional advice or prescribed treatment because of something you read here.
This is not for emergencies. If you think you are having a reaction to a product, or that a child has swallowed one, contact a medical professional, your local poison centre or emergency services.
What a result means
Low Risk, Caution, Avoid and Unknown summarise how a product's listed ingredients are described in published research and regulatory opinions, for the health topics you chose. A result is not a statement that a product is safe or unsafe for you, and it is not a recommendation to use, buy or stop using any product. Low Risk is not a clinical clearance, and Avoid is not a diagnosis.
Results look at ingredient names. They do not measure how much of an ingredient a product contains, how you use it, or how you personally respond to it.
It is not an allergy checker. HormoneGuard does not assess allergies or intolerances. Always read the product's own label.
The limits of the data
We work to keep the information accurate, but we cannot promise that it is complete, current or free of error.
- Product data comes from third parties. Names, ingredient lists and photos come largely from Open Beauty Facts and Open Food Facts, which anyone can edit. They can be wrong, out of date or specific to another country.
- Formulas change. The pack in your hand is the authority. If it differs from what you see here, trust the pack.
- Research changes. Our reference data is reviewed periodically, so it can lag behind new findings or regulatory decisions. Each ingredient page shows the version and the date it was last reviewed.
- AI can be wrong. Ingredients our reference data does not cover may be classified by an AI model and are marked as model-assisted. Label photos are read automatically and can be misread. Check them against the pack.
Real brands and products on this website
Some pages show real products to illustrate how a label reads. They are examples only. We show them without any rating, and showing one is not a statement about its quality or safety, or a recommendation for or against it.
Brand names, product names, logos and pack designs belong to their owners and appear only to identify the product. HormoneGuard is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any brand shown, and they have not reviewed this website. The products in our app screenshots and store images are invented examples.
Articles and ingredient pages
Articles and ingredient pages are general information, correct as far as we know on the date shown. They are not written about your situation, and listing an ingredient says nothing about any particular product that contains it.
Links to other websites
We link to research, regulators and other sites so you can check our sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.
Corrections and notices
